The Miss Universe Cuba 2024 pageant took place recently in Miami, marking Cuba’s long-awaited return to the international stage. Marianela Ancheta, a 31-year-old from Villa Clara, won the competition and will represent her country in Miss Universe 2024, which will be held on November 16 in Mexico City(LaPatilla.com).
The Miss Universe Cuba 2024 Gala
Broadcasted on MegaTV, the event featured 24 finalists competing in rounds of public speaking, modeling, and runway walking. Marianela, who also earned the Miss Photogenic title, impressed the judges with her charm and stage presence.
The gala, hosted by Ayilín Mujica and William Valdés, included a lively performance of Celia Cruz’s greatest hits during the swimsuit competition. The event concluded with Marianela’s crowning as Miss Universe Cuba, marking her as Cuba’s new hope on the global stage.
Marianela’s Challenge at Miss Universe
While Marianela Ancheta is undeniably beautiful, the competition at Miss Universe 2024 will be tough, particularly in Latin America. The contestants from this region are known for their preparation, excelling in public speaking, knowledge, and stage presence.
At MissUniverseus.com, we believe Marianela was the strongest Cuban contender, although the overall level was somewhat low. She has an impressive physical presence but still needs significant preparation. Only two months remain before Miss Universe, and that’s not enough time to fully develop her oratory and communication skills
MissUniverseus.com’s Opinion
In our view, Marianela Ancheta has all the physical attributes needed for success at Miss Universe. She exudes grace and beauty. However, her limited time to prepare presents a major challenge. She needs to improve her public speaking and overall confidence to make an impact on the international stage.
In a recent Telemundo interview, she seemed unsure of herself and struggled to connect with the audience. It’s unfortunate that, after so many years, Cuba doesn’t have more time to prepare a candidate for such an important competition. Marianela has potential, but with only two months left, it’s unlikely she’ll reach the level expected at Miss Universe.
